OUR HISTORY
The San Francisco African American Chamber of Commerce and its successor, the San Francisco Black Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1973 and has been a founding member of numerous other organizations, including the California Black Chamber and the National Black Chamber of Commerce. We exist to promote, support and advocate for African American businesses in various forms of development and to ensure multi-generational business and wealth transfer within our community.
Position Summary
SFAACC is looking for a Program Director to be responsible for organizing programs and activities for our organization and overseeing our Business Incubation Supportive Services Center. Reporting directly to the President, the Program Director directs the day-to-day operations of our African American business advocacy and support programming, manages both internal and external relationships, and supports staff and volunteers.

Program Director Job Description
SFAACC is looking for a Program Director to be responsible for organizing programs and activities for our organization and overseeing our Business Incubation Supportive Services Center. You will be tasked with developing programs to support the organization's strategic direction, as well as creating and managing long term goals. You will also oversee developing budgets and operating plans for programs and writing program funding proposals. To be successful in this role, you will need to have prior experience in both program management and team management. A bachelor's degree is required. Experience working with Nonprofits a plus.
Program Director Responsibilities

Organizing programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.

Developing new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization.

Creating and managing long-term goals.

Developing a budget and operating plan for the program.

Developing an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.

Writing program funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of services.

Managing a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.

Ensuring goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance.

Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.

Meeting with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services.

Producing accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle.

Analyzing program risks.

Working on strategy with the marketing team.

Program Director Requirements

Must be able to work out of the San Francisco office 3 days a week with the flexibility of working 2 days a week from your home office.

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in business or related field preferred.

Three plus years of experience working with business owners in the areas of contracting/employment, capacity building, business incubation, business support and advocacy.

Three plus years of knowledge and understanding of business advocacy and support policy advocacy, and or business capacity building best practices.

Three plus years of direct management experience; success in working with volunteers, interns, and/or emerging professionals (a team of 3+ staff).

Demonstrated success organizing, managing, and evaluating programs, events, or campaigns.

Experience and cultural competency with small business owners and providing services to under-served populations.

Ability to work cooperatively on a multi-disciplinary diverse team.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and data entry programs such as Salesforce.

Strong and exceptional written and oral communication skills including the demonstrated ability to research, assimilate, and analyze information, compose engaging messages, and present data in a clear and inspiring manner.

Have a high level of professionalism in work and interpersonal interactions with both internal and external contacts, present to others as organized, informed, and friendly.

Well-honed ability to independently anticipate and analyze situations, define problems and objectives, recognize viable alternatives, and formulate rapid solutions, with understanding of the inherent risks and implications of making tough decision.

Availability to work the occasional evening and weekend; some local travel is required.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a very fast-paced, performance-oriented environment.

Compensation and Benefits
-
Compensation Range: $55,000 - $70,000 (Placement in range Depends Upon Experience and Education)

Benefits include: medical, dental, commuter benefits; 6 paid holidays, 7 paid vacation days and 3 paid sick days
