June was a vibrant month for the SFAACC community, filled with significant milestones and impactful events. We celebrated Juneteenth throughout the entire month, participating in the parade and hosting our Juneteenth event. Additionally, we joyously observed Caribbean Day and XXX Day, reflecting on cultural heritage and community spirit.

During this time, we also mourned the loss of Willie Mays and paid tribute to our former President, Oliver Matthew Thomas, whose homegoing we commemorated with solemn remembrance.

As micro and small business owners, we understand the delicate balance required to manage our responsibilities. We care for aging parents, nurture our growing children, and support our partners and significant others. It's a testament to our dedication that self-employed individuals often work harder daily than many government or private sector employees.

Looking forward, we recently marked a significant milestone with the end of the fiscal year coinciding with my birthday on June 30th. This moment prompted reflection on the precious nature of time and the constant juggling of responsibilities. July presents an opportune time to plan for 2025 as we strive to maximize productivity amidst time constraints.

This month, let's also take a moment to reassess how we handle essential tasks, such as paperwork, which remains crucial despite its challenges. I encourage you to prioritize self-care and downtime this summer, cherishing moments with loved ones without the constant presence of work obligations.

In addition, July is dedicated to celebrating and supporting women entrepreneurs who conduct business internationally. Their contributions are invaluable, underscoring the vital role of the small business community in society.
Amidst our busy schedules, remember to honor the 15th anniversary of the African Advocacy Network, led by esteemed SFAACC Board Member Adoubou Traore and supported by our hardworking member, Ester Vincente, President of the Caribbean Association in Sacramento, CA. Their dedication has been pivotal in advancing our community's interests and promoting unity.

Furthermore, Vice Chair of the Board, LeBlanc, recently participated in a panel for the African Arts Academy SF MODEFA and showcased their involvement in a memorable fashion show. These endeavors highlight our commitment to cultural enrichment and community engagement.

Looking ahead, SFAACC remains steadfast in its mission to showcase diverse events that uplift our community. We eagerly anticipate the upcoming Black Business Month event scheduled for Thursday, August 1st, where we will celebrate entrepreneurship and resilience within our community.

As we navigate the remainder of the year, let's continue to support one another and strive for excellence in all our endeavors. Together, we strengthen the fabric of our community and create opportunities for growth and prosperity.

Best regards,
